OPPORTY
OVERVIEW
Opporty is an online marketplace where individuals can submit offers and carry out transactions through the decentralized escrow mechanism embedded in the marketplace.
Our goal was to design an intuitive and effective way for businesses to sign up, create a profile, add and receive inquiries.
Year: 2019.
Team: UX Designers from the Beginex 2019 Cohort.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
We spoke with small business owner (client's target audience) and asked them to perform tasks in the platform. These were the main problems that we identified among their answers:
People have a hard time trusting the website.
The sign up process is not clear, specifically differentiating signing in as a ‘company’ or an ‘individual’.
People want a more intuitive sign in process with less steps to follow.
There needs to be a compelling message in order for people to want to sign up.
Most people would rather use a laptop to sign up for a service, rather than a cell phone.
PROCESS
Researched competitors.
Interviewed users and had them perform tasks on the desktop and mobile sites. The goal was to identify the main challenges they faced during the sign up process.
We created a persona based on the interviews findings with the objective of understanding our target audience and build empathy with the user.
We used affinity mapping to organize data and ideas, come up with an action plan and define the direction of our design.
We created lo-fi and mid-fidelity wireframes and tested with users.
Based on the testing findings, we rewrote clear content and made sure all pages were written well with simple instructions.
We created a style guide and proceeded with hi-fidelity clickable wireframes.

SOLUTION
We created a plan of action which consisted on
Fewer CTA buttons.
More guidance on sign up.
Incorporating more layman terms.
Other key things we focused on:
• Designing an easy and instantaneous sign up process using Google.
• Guiding the user through the process without stopping and leaving the site.
• Giving clear and concise paths to take, with bold leadership and simplified steps.
OUTCOME
The most important part of this project was to start right from the very beginning with research, and learning as much as we could about the company and the users pain points and challenges. Without it, it would have been impossible to inventory all the necessary steps and accurately prioritize them, based on the company's and customers needs.
